Paulo Monteiro “A Carload of Distant Things”

2025.11.29 Sat – 2026.1.18 Sun

Opening reception: 11.29 Sat 14:00 - 18:00

We are pleased to announce “A Carload of Distant Things” our third solo exhibition with São Paulo born (1961) and based artist Paulo Monteiro; the exhibition will run concurrently with Monteiro’s, “A Carload of Close Things” at the Kyobashi branch of Tomio Koyama Gallery. Monteiro’s work is included in the permanent collection of The Museum of Modern Art, New York, the Museum of Modern of Modern Art São Paulo and the Start Museum, Shanghai; he has presented solo and participated in group exhibitions at gallery spaces including Zeno X (Antwerp), David Zwirner (New York) and Mendes Wood DM (São Paulo / global).

The two present exhibitions consider Monteiro’s key concern; the malleability of space when influenced by a repetitive manipulation of form, color, texture and mass. The opposing exhibition titles invite viewers to consider how they perceive this space – from both near and afar…as well as in motion.
