Misako & Rosen is pleased announce our presentation of a two person photo exhibition by Ayako Mogi and Mie Morimoto.
Dealing in both atmosphere and abstraction the work of each phtographer is representtative of a new direction in contempoary Japanese photographic practice.
Ayako Mogi was born in Hokkaido in 1969. She was awarded photographer Nobuyoshi Araki’s prize, New Cosmos of Photography in 1992. In 1997 she moved to Munich Since 2006 she has been based in Switzerland. Mogi’s photographs appeared regularly in the Japanese photo magazine Coyote in 2006.
Mie Morimoto is presently based in Tokyo. In addition to her already well known photographic magazine work, Morimoto has published highly regarded photo books – including 2003’s “Studio Portrait:Yoshitomo Nara” – as well as particpated in exhibitions. Most recently, Morimoto was selected to particiapte in the prestigious VOCA 2007 exhibition at the Ueno Forest of Art.
